World Telecom and Information Society Day observed

The Institution of Engineers (India), Jammu & Kashmir State Centre, in collaboration with National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar today held a seminar to observe ‘World Telecommunication and Information Society Day-2019.

More than 100 people including representatives of mobileservice providers participated in the seminar, which focused on the theme’Bridging the Standardization Gap’.

   

On the occasion, Dr. Rakesh Sehgal, Director, NationalInstitute of Technology Srinagar, who was also the Chief Guest on the occasion,stressed on conducting such seminars to boost the concept of moderntechnologies which are important in the day-to-day life of people, an official handoutsaid.

In his welcome address, Er. Aamir Ali, Chairman of theInstitution of Engineers said that Telecommunication has made the world aGlobal Village and percolated in every aspect of modern day life.

“Due to technological advancement, telecommunication haswaved out traditional and conventional concepts and empowered a wide range ofnew digital technologies, which involves Artificial Intelligence, The Internetof Things, Unmanned Vehicles, 3D printing, 5G network, Nanotechnology,Biotechnology, Machine Learning, Advanced Robotics, to mention a few,” he said.
