Yasin Malik pays tributes to Sajjad Kenoo

Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik today paid rich tributes to slain pro-resistance leader Sajjad Ahmad Keno on his anniversary.

“Sajad Ahmad Kenoo was one of pioneers of present Kashmir struggle. Martyrs like him are our real heroes and their sacrifices will never be forgotten,” a JKLF spokesman quoted Malik as having said while addressing a memorial meeting held here to recall slain Kenoo’s sacrifices.

“Sajad Shaheed was a humble person, dedicated warrior, prolific leader and a luminous human being. He was one of the faces of Kashmiri movement who till his last breath stood upright for the cause and sacrificed his life while striving for it,” Yasin Malik said.

He said, “The sacrifices of heroes like Sajad Ahmad Kenoo can never be forgotten and today when we remember his sacrifices and struggle, we pledge to take his mission forward with passion and zeal.”

Meanwhile, Yasin Malik expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of prominent businessman Tariq Ahmad Bhat of Master Arts who breathed his last few days ago. JKLF chairman along with a delegation of Front leaders visited the bereaved family at Rajbagh here and expressed solidarity with them.

DEMOCRATIC FREEDOM PARTY

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) also paid rich tributes to slain Sajad Ahmad Kenu on his 22nd death anniversary.

“People of Kashmir are indebted to the sacrifices of martyrs and committed to take their mission forward. Sajjad Ahmad Kenu of Anantnag was martyred by forces on January 8, 1996. Our martyrs sacrificed their lives for Kashmir cause. These sacrifices are enough to awaken the conscience of the world leadership but unfortunately the international community doesn’t exert pressure on New Delhi to resolve the Kashmir issue,” a DFP spokesman said in a statement.
