Yasin Malik visits south Kashmir, arrested: JKLF

Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik was once again arrested by police when he was returning home from south Kashmir where he had gone to expresses condolences to bereaved families, a  JKLF spokesman said on Sunday.

He said Malik along with the amalgam vice-chairman Mushtaq Ajmal, zonal organiser Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri and others including Imtiyaz Ahmad and Arshad Ahmad were returning to Srinagar when police at Sangam stopped and detained them. “They are now lodged at police station Sangam,” he added.

   

Its in place to mention here that Malik was released after 10 days of incarceration on Saturday. 

Prior to his arrest, Malik along with a delegation visited families of youth, who were recently killed by the forces during the past few days, the spokesman added.

Malik visited Hawoora Redwani and met the bereaved families of slain girl Andaleeb Jan, Shakir Ahmad Khanday and Irshad Ahmad Lone who were killed on July 7, 2018.

Malik expressed solidarity with them. “Malik then moved to Gasipora Wanpoh and met with the bereaved family of slain Yawar Ahmad. After meeting this bereaved family, he along with the delegation visited Brakpora Islamabad (Anantnag) and met with the family of slain Sheeraz Ahmad who was killed by the forces on Eid day (June 16th 2018),” the spokesman said.

According to the statement, Malik then traveled to Naowshehra Srigufwara Bijbehara and met with the bereaved family of slain Muhammad Yousuf Rather who was showered with bullets along with his wife who is still under treatment for her wounds.

“He also met with the victims of the locality whose residential houses were burnt down or bombed by forces and who have been left homeless,” the spokesman said.

Earlier, Malik visited Malaknagh where he expressed condolences to Sofi family on the demise of their father Ghulam Muhammad Sofi. The deceased was the father of senior Hurriyat Leader Mukhtar Ahmad Sofi.

The spokesman said that as Malik was returning to Srinagar “Police cordoned their vehicle and arrested him along with Mushtaq Ajmal, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, Imtiyaz Ahmad.
