Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) has expressed concern over the reports of hospitalisation and deteriorating health of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik.
Malik was last month booked under PSA and shifted to Kotbalwal jail but later he was handed over to NIA, which shifted him to Tihar Jail, New Delhi, were his health condition has deteriorated and has been shifted to hospital, JRL said in a statement on Saturday.
“The entire Kashmiri nation is worried over the condition of Malik and it was the responsibility of government of India to ensure his treatment, wellbeing and safety,” JRL said.
“The way none of the family members of Malik were allowed to meet him in jail has raised apprehensions about his condition as there is no source of information to get to know about his actual position,” the statement added.
JRL said, “Malik is the leader of masses and subjecting him to harassment and inhuman treatment is unfortunate and amounts to brazen violation of human rights.”
