Youth critically injured in last evening Soura clashes

A 24-year-old youth was critically injured during clashes with the government forces in Soura area of Srinagar last evening, reports said.

GNS news agency reported that police and paramilitary forces fired teargas and pellets to disperse protesters in Soura last evening.

   

It said that two youth were injured in the forces’ action with one of them, identified as Abdul Majeed War son of Ghulam Nabi of Anchar Soura, receiving critical head injuries.

According to the report, War was hit by pellets fired from a close range.

Both the injured were taken to nearby SKIMS where the condition of War is stated to be critical, it said.

An official of the local police station said they were investigating how the youth suffered injuries.

Medical Superintendent, SKIMS Soura Dr. Farooq Jan confirmed that the youth was received in critical condition. “His condition is very serious and he is on the ventilator,” he said.
