A breach in an artificial lake in Ladakh Thursday led to flooding in a nearby village and a school besides washing away bridges, sources said.

Phuktal lake suddenly burst today at 8:30 am and waters entered village Ichar at 10:45 am, sources quoting witnesses said.

"It’s yet to reach Padum. People are keeping a watch on the flood waters that have washed away few suspension bridges from Lungnak.
