Deputy Commissioner Leh Avny Lavasa on Monday congratulated the stakeholders for effective implementation of café-sales outlet-cum-first-all-weather public toilet in Leh.
Conjoined with a cafe and a sales outlet, this aesthetic & hygienic public toilet has been built in an eco-friendly way, using local architectural method with insulated walls and mud plaster. Most importantly, it has been designed to function throughout the year. Besides, ramp access has also been provided to make it differently abled friendly.
Deputy Commissioner said,” The idea was to change the common perception that public toilets are poorly maintained and are unhygienic, and to provide an all-weather public toilet to the general public especially during the peak winter months when temperatures dip below freezing point.”
