Deputy Commissioner Leh Avny Lavasa on Monday congratulated the stakeholders for effective implementation of café-sales outlet-cum-first-all-weather public toilet in Leh.
Conjoined with a cafe and a sales outlet, this aesthetic& hygienic public toilet has been built in an eco-friendly way, using localarchitectural method with insulated walls and mud plaster. Most importantly, ithas been designed to function throughout the year. Besides, ramp access hasalso been provided to make it differently abled friendly.
Deputy Commissioner said,” The idea was to change the commonperception that public toilets are poorly maintained and are unhygienic, and toprovide an all-weather public toilet to the general public especially duringthe peak winter months when temperatures dip below freezing point.”
