CEC Leh inaugurates Skindiyang bridge, Khaltsi Rest House

The Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal today dedicated a bridge to the people of Skindiyang village constructed by the PWD at a cost of Rs 80 lakhs under district plan. 

The Deputy Chairman, LAHDC, EC Agriculture Stanzin Phuntsog, Councillor Khalsi Nawang Sherab, SDM Khaltsi Sachin Kumar, SE, PWD and other concerned district officers also accompanied the CEC.

   

Congratulating the people of Skindiyang on the completion of this important bridge, Namgyal said that this has immensely eased the approach road to the village and would contribute a lot in the overall development in days to come. He said that Hill Council is very much committed for fulfilling the basic public needs with much focus on creation of rural infrastructure. He highlighted the welfare schemes of present govt and made an enquiry with the people about the coverage and implementation of all these schemes at village level.

On this occasion, the people of Skindiyang demanded macadam for their road from Khaltsi to Skindiyang besides construction of road from Skindiyang to Lamaguru area. They also demanded for early repair of the village drinking water supply scheme and also appealed to the CEC to issue instruction for ensuring ration supply to the villagers through a departmental vehicle till the road upto the Ration Store is completed.   

After listening to the people’s demands, Namgyal gave assurance for completion of macadam of road upto Skindiyang Photang well before the proposed religious congregation next summer. For other demands, he gave on spot instructions to the concerned HoDs.

The Deputy Chairman, Gyal P Wangyal also spoke and highlighted the LAHDC’s motive to serve the people of Leh district. The EC Agriculture and Councillor Khaltsi, Lobzang Sherab also spoke on the occasion.

Earlier, a 2 minutes silence was observed for the victims of Khardongla avalanche.

Enroute to Skindiyang, CEC also inaugurated a well furnished Rest House at Khaltsi consisting of 8 rooms with attached baths which has been constructed at a cost of Rs 2 crore through PWD.
