DC Kargil inspects Chutuk Hydel Project

Deputy commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Vikas Kundal Tuesday visited Chutuk Hydel Project and took stock of power generation from the project during the winter season.

The DC during the visit went round various sections of the Hydel Project like Barrage Section, Reservoir and Power House and enquired from the engineers about the present status of power generation, an official handout said.

The DC was informed that around eight to nine mega watts of power is being generated during peak hours due to low discharge of water in Suru River.

The concerned officers further informed the DC that power is being distributed to various areas of the district through five 66/11 KV stations at Kargil, Khangral, Shargole, Gramthang and Sankoo.

The DC while underlining the need for better coordination between NHPC and PDD authorities instructed the concerned officers to put in their best efforts to ensure provision of hassle free power supply to consumers during the winter season.
