“Kargil remains cut off from rest of the country for nearly six months due to Srinagar-Kargil highway getting blocked in winter.”

Residents of Kargil have urged the Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed to mitigate the sufferings of the people and make the N-32 courier service between Kargil to Delhi, Srinagar and Jammu a regular feature.

A delegation of residents led by Aga Ali Rizvi while talking to Greater Kashmir said, “Kargil remains cut off from rest of the country for nearly six months due to Srinagar-Kargil highway getting blocked in winter.”

They said till date whosoever has come in power he has not paid any heed towards “our sufferings” and their promises have remained confined to papers only. “We hope the new government led by Mufti Muhammad Sayeed would put in all the efforts to develop Kargil and would streamline the functioning of N-32 courier service,” they added.
