Leh DEO inspects SVEEP in Trans-Singhe-la areas

In continuation with Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme, the District Election Officer (DEO) LehAvnyLavasa today visited various villages of Trans-Singhe-la area.

Addressing the public gatherings at Fanjila, Hunufatta andFotoksar, AvnyLavasa strongly urged the eligible persons to vote on May 6, 2019for LokSabha elections.

   

On the occasion, the Master Trainers conducted workshops andgave live demonstrations on the operating procedure of Electronic VotingMachines and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail at these places followed bydistribution of election badges to the voters.

Urging people to ensure their larger participation in  LokSabha elections, Avny said that castingtheir ballot will not only help to strengthen the democratic system of thecountry, but also ensure overall improvement of public life.

The DEO also visited the newly opened polling station atHipti. She took stock of the availability of Assured Minimum Facility such asroad, drinking water, toilet, ramp and electricity and directed to theconcerned officers to ensure the basic facility for convenience of the electorates.

Lavasa also visited Mangyu village where she urged thevoters to exercise their voting franchise. She gave detailed information aboutthe functioning of the newly introduced Voter verifiable paper audit trail(VVPAT) machine which ensures a voter to verify that the vote polled by a votergoes to the correct candidate.
