Dr Ishey Namgyal and Muhammad Deen Khan were elected as president and vice-president of Municipal Committee Leh.
The election process for president and vice-president of Municipal Committee Leh was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Leh Avny Lavsa at DC Conference hall on Saturday. All the elected members unanimously elected the president and the vice-president MCL unanimously.
Earlier, DC Leh Avny Lavasa invited the proposal of names for the posts of president and vice-president from all the members and sought their consent in each proposal.
Subsequently, Rinchen Dolker member MCL ward no. 8 proposed the name of Dr Ishey Namgyal for president which was seconded by Tsering Angmo and others.
Likewise, Yangchan Dolma proposed the name of Muhammad Deen Khan for the post of vice-president which was then seconded by Deldan Gawa Otsal and others. Member Legislative Assembly Nawang Rigzin Jora, Councillor Nimoo Tsering Norboo, former CEC Rigzin Splabar, and supporters in large number were present during the election ceremony
