Under the chairmanship of the Principal District and Session Judge Kargil R S Jasrotia, a training programme for Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) and Branch Post Masters was organized on Saturday at the District Court Complex Kargil.
Chief Judicial Magistrate (TLC) Kargil Mansoor Ahmad Loneand Munsif (TLC) Sankoo Muneer Ahmed were also present on the occasion.
PLVs and Branch Post Masters of inaccessible areas besidesRetainer Lawyers attended the training programme.
During the course of the programme, training was imparted tothe participants in accordance with the training module and the role of bothPLVs and Post Masters in providing legal awareness and assistance to people ofinaccessible areas was highlighted. This was done in order to get the disputesresolved by way of alternate dispute resolution through Lok Adalats, mediation,arbitration and reconciliation.
It was also resolved during the training programme that out of four retainer lawyers, one lawyer would act as a remand lawyer, one to remain available on the legal awareness programmes to be held in various areas of the district while as other two lawyers were assigned the job of attending the front office alternatively.
