While the country was observing Yoga Day, Project Himank braving cold conditions celebrated it at high altitudes of Ladakh with zeal, officials said.
They said that personnel of units under the project, including headquarter project Himank actively participated in Yoga sessions. “The jawans performed various ‘asanas’ and Pranayam to commemorate the event in far flung areas at altitudes ranging from 13500 feet 16000 fts . The Border Roads jawans braved the cold conditions and displayed enthusiasm in practicing Yoga and meditation,” the officials added.
Reiterating the importance of Yoga, BRO official said that performing Yoga at these high altitudes areas will help them to stay fit in the otherwise hostile circumstances . Yoga, though ancient is still modern and solution to all problems faced either by an individual or society. Yoga in today’s stressful lifestyle and its use for staying healthy in cold climate and extreme High Altitude areas is important that stay healthy,” they said.
