While the country was observing Yoga Day, Project Himank braving cold conditions celebrated it at high altitudes of Ladakh with zeal, officials said.
They said that personnel of units under the project,including headquarter project Himank actively participated in Yoga sessions.”The jawans performed various ‘asanas’and Pranayam to commemorate the event in far flung areas at altitudes rangingfrom 13500 feet 16000 fts . The BorderRoads jawans braved the cold conditionsand displayed enthusiasm in practicing Yoga and meditation,” the officialsadded.
Reiterating the importance of Yoga, BRO official said thatperforming Yoga at these high altitudes areas will help them to stay fit in theotherwise hostile circumstances . Yoga, though ancient is still modern andsolution to all problems faced either by an individual or society. Yoga intoday’s stressful lifestyle and its use for staying healthy in cold climate andextreme High Altitude areas is important that stay healthy,” they said.
