Army porter killed in cross-border firing in north Kashmir’s Uri

A 26-year- old Army porter was killed on Wednesday afternoon in a ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops in the Uri sector along the Line of Control in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police said.

“An army porter identified as Altaf Hussain of Gohalan village of Uri was killed in sniper fire from the Pakistan side in Lachipora village,” said a police official.

   

The porter was working with Army’s 11 Mahar unit and was posted at Tika Rajput post of Army in Lachipora area along the LoC.
