Body of boy fished out from Jhelum after 21 hours in Uri

The body of a ten-year-old boy who drowned in river Jhelum in Gingal area of this border town while taking a bath was retrieved after 21-hours on Thursday.

On Wednesday evening, the deceased identified as Muhammad Momin of Silikote village, had gone to his relative’s place in Gingal to meet them.

   

Reports said the boy decided to take a bath in the river which flows nearby and drowned. “The body of the deceased has been fished out from the river near Mohra Bridge. The rescue operation was carried out jointly by the locals, police and State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) team,” said Junaid Wali, SDPO Uri.
