COVID-19: Movement into Srinagar from other districts to be allowed on production of valid inter-district pass, says DM

District MagistrateSrinagar, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary has ordered that movement into and out ofSrinagar from and to other districts will not be allowed except on productionof a valid inter-district movement pass.

The decision toregulate the inter-district movement of people including pedestrian andvehicular has been taken in view of a large number of persons includingofficials and essential services providers coming into Srinagar on a regularbasis and instances of serious violations of the SOPs as laid down for COVID-19red zones, said an official.

   

The regulation ofinter-district movement has been ordered is in line with the advice guidingmanagement of red zone areas with most of these movements being linked to redzones in other districts.

The passes formovement into and out of Srinagar from and to other districts must alsoindicate in clear terms the date of issuance and validity thereof, added theofficial.

The order will comeinto force from May 4. It should be noted that those without valid movementpasses will not be allowed to move into Srinagar district.

The Srinagaradministration has urged all people to cooperate with it. The official saidthis, among other measures put in place, is aimed at containing spread of theCOVID-19 disease in the district.

Quoting Dr Shahid,the official said that Srinagar has made a lot of gains in the last one monthor so because of measures put in place for containment of this disease andadded that there can be no complacencies as long as the situation surroundingthis disease remains as it is.
