COVID-19: Restrictions reimposed in north Kashmir’s Bandipora

Amid the surge in COVID19 positive cases, the administration on Wednesday reimposed lockdown restrictions in north Kashmir’s Bandipora with effect from Thursday till further orders.

In an order issued here, the administration has put restrictions on gatherings of four or more than four people while as markets have been ordered to operate partially in municipal areas. 

   

“In view of the overall situation arisen due to surge in COVID-19 Positive Cases, and as a precautionary measure of the general public, I, Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, in the exercise of powers vested in me under Section-144 Cr. PC, do hereby order restrictions, w.e.f. 27-08-2020, till further orders,” read the order.

“There shall be a restriction on the gathering of 04 or more than 04 people in entire District while as Markets in all Municipal areas of Bandipora, Sumbal, Hajin shall operate partially as per mechanism already in place (Left-Right),” the order read further. 

Police has been also ordered to implement the restriction in letter & spirit. “Any violation of this order shall invite punitive action under Section 188 IPC, & other relevant provisions,” the order read.

Meanwhile, 22 fresh cases were reported from the district on Wednesday, according to the media bulletin while as 130 cases have also recovered taking the active tally in the district to 790. The district still remains the second-worst hit in Jammu and Kashmir after Srinagar.
