Driver injured as fire tender turns turtle in north Kashmir’s Baramulla

A driver of the fire tender of the Fire and Emergency Services was injured after the vehicle turned turtle on way to douse the flames in a house in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday.   

Official sources told GNS that the driver, Rajinder Singh of Rafiabad, suffered severe injuries following the accident which occurred due to skidding on a slope of the road. 

   

They said that a single-storey house adjacent to the spot of accident also suffered damage.

An officer of the fire services department told GNS that soon after getting the information about the fire incident at Shahi Hamdan colony area of old town Baramulla this morning, three fire tenders were rushed to the “high altitude” area.

He said that due to scarcity of water, they rushed three fire tenders out of which one turned turtle due to skidding on the road.

The officer said the driver of the fire tender suffered grave injuries in the mishap even as the flames in the fire incident were doused off.
