Fresh firing takes place as Baramulla gunfight enters second day

A fresh exchange of fire took place at the site of the gunfight in Kreeri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district today morning.

The security forces had suspended the operation late last night due to darkness, officials said.

A senior Police officer told news agency GNS that the operation was resumed at the first light today.

Heavy exchange of fire is going on right now, the officer said.

Six persons, including 02 CRPF troopers, 01 JK cop, 01 Army solidier and two local LeT militants in the gunfight yesterday.

Director General of police Dilbagh Singh said during a press conference yesterday that a top LeT Commander Sajad Haider from Sopore was among the two slain militants.
