Jaish militant associate held with grenade in south Kashmir's Tral: Police

Police on Monday claimed to have arrested a militant associate of Jaish-e-Mohammad outfit from Tral area of Awantipora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Quoting a police statement, news agency GNS reported that the accused, Muzamil Qadir Bhat resident of Larow Jagir Tral, was arrested this morning from his native village by local police along with 42 RR and 180 battalion of CRPF following inputs about presence of JeM militants there.

Police said that a hand grenade concealed in the compound of his home along with “incriminating material” of JeM was recovered from Bhat’s possession upon questioning. 

Bhat, police said, “has been in touch with the militant commanders of Jaish in Tral and across the country”. 

A case FIR no.13/2021under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Tral in this regard and further investigation is going on as per police.
