LG Murmu visits slain BJP leader’s family in Bandipora

Lieutenant Governor, Jammu and Kashmir, GC Murmu on Tuesday visited north Kashmir’s Bandipora district to condole the demise of slain Bharatiya Janata Party leader Waseem Bari.

Murmu, who was accompanied by advisor Baseer Khan, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, PK Pole and IG Kashmir arrived at Bari’s home to pay condolences to the family.

   

Later, the LG also held interactions with several public delegations as he e-inaugurated some key developmental projects at the mini-secretariat Bandipora.

Sheikh Waseem Bari, who was state executive member and former District president for BJP in Bandipora, was killed in a militant attack late Thursday along with his father and younger brother, all associated with the party.

The BJP has termed the killing of Bari a huge loss to the party.
