Army on Sunday claimed to have foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of J&K by killing a militant and injuring two others.

An army spokesman said that a group of infiltrators were attempting to cross into this side of the LoC in Krishna Ghati sector on August 7th.

The alert Indian Army troops, he said, detected the militants close to LoC and immediately engaged them resulting in on the spot killing of one of them and seroius injuries to other two.

Subsequent search in the area showed that the dead body of militant had been dragged away from the incident site, said the official.

However, one AK 47 Rifle, two AK 47 Magazines and some eatables were recovered from the incident site, he said.
