Security forces on Friday evening launched a cordon and search operation at Hizb ul Mujahideen commander Riyaz Naikoo’s native village in Awantipora township of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Local and police sources said the forces launched theoperation in Beighpora village following inputs about the presence ofmilitants.
They said that the forces launched house-to-house searchesand large numbers of security forces were involved in the operation.
Jammu & Kashmir police, Army’s Rashtriya Rifles (RR) andCentral Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have jointly launched the operation, saidan official.
