Srinagar-Jammu national highway closed for 2nd day due to landslides

The Srinagar-Jammu highway remained closed for the second consecutive day on Wednesday due to landslides in Batote and Banihal areas of Ramban district.

Reports said that the highway remained at Dalwas where a portion of the strategic road had caved in yesterday following heavy rains.

   

Officials said that fresh landslides occurred at Pantiyal, Monkey morh, Maroog and Kunfer Chanderkot in Banihal – Nashri sector of the highway.

DSPT NHW, Ramban said there were little chances of restoration of the highway today.
