Jammu and Kashmir Police today said that they have arrested a rape accused within six hours in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
In a statement, a police spokesman said that the police had received a complaint that a 17-year-old girl (name withheld) was sexually assaulted and video-graphed by the assaulter.
As per the complaint, the accused had also shared the video on various social media networks.
After receiving the complaint, a case vide FIR No. 120/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered at police station Devsar.
The accused has been identified as Mohd Aamir Bhat, a resident of Gudder Kulgam and has been shifted to PS Devsar.
As a part of the investigation, necessary medico-legal formalities are being carried out, said the statement.
