Three held in north Kashmir’s Bandipora for alleged links with LeT

Police in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Friday arrested three alleged overground workers of Lashkar-e-Toiba militant outfit and claimed to have recovered arms and ammunition from their possession.

A police spokesman said that Bandipora police along with 13 RR and 45 BN CRPF apprehended three  militant associates of LeT following a specific input.

   

“In a joint operation at Rakhi Hajin, the arms and ammunition were also recovered from their possession which includes 03 live Hand Grenades, 01 AK 47 Magzine and 21 live rounds of AK 47 were also recovered,” said the spokesman, in a statement.

Those arrested were identified as Bashir Ahmed Mir S/o Ab Ahad Mir R/o Rakhi Hajin,  Irfan Ahmad Bhat @Ifa S/o GH Ahmad Bhat R/o Bonikhan Mohalla Hajin and Hilal Ahmad Parray S/o GH Mustaffa Parray R/o Parray Mohalla Hajin. 

“On preliminary enquiry, it was revealed that the accused were  associated with militant outfit LeT and were providing shelter, logistics and other material support to active militants of LET in Sumbal and Hajin area,” read the statement.

“In this regard Case FIR No. 10/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in P/S Hajin and further investigation has been taken up,” it added.
