Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested three militant associates in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
A police spokesperson identified the militant associates as Abrar Gulzar a resident of Bagh Bandipora, Mohd Waqar from Chittay Banday and Muneer Ahmad Sheikh a resident of Quil Muqam Bandipora.
The police said the trio were arrested in case FIR No. 74/2020 U/S 16,18,39UAPA, 7/27IA act of Police station Bandipora.
As per the investigation, the spokesperson said, they were involved in various subversive activities besides providing logistic support and assistance to militants operating in the district.
“Incriminating material has been recovered from the possession of the accused while further investigation of the case is going on,” he said.
SSP Bandipora, Rahul Malik said, “all three were arrested in different search operations in Bandipora.”
