Two deaths, one each in Jammu and Kupwara, take J&K COVID-19 tally to 307

A police sub-inspector from Kupwara and a 75-year-old woman from Jammu died of covid-19, officials said on Sunday. Their deaths have taken the number of COVID related fatalities in Jammu and Kashmir to 307.

The police official, who was suffering from severe pneumonia, hypertension and type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, was referred to CD hospital from SMHS hospital.

   

“He was on ventilator and suffered cardiac arrest at 4:30 a.m. today. CPR was done but the patient could not be revived and was declared dead at 5:00 a.m.,” a senior doctor at CD hospital, one of the exclusive facilities for the covid-19 management, told news agency GNS.     

Earlier, a 75-year-old woman died of COVID-19 at a hospital in Jammu. So far 284 deaths have been reported in Kashmir and 23 in Jammu division.  

Srinagar district with 86 deaths has the highest fatalities followed by Baramulla (63), Kulgam (26), 21 each in Anantnag  and Budgam, Shopian (20), Kupwara (17), Pulwama  (16), Jammu(14),  Bandipora (8), Ganderbal (6), two each in Rajouri and Doda and one each in Poonch, Udhampur, and Kathua.
