This refers to the SAS Geelani’s statement about 1975 accord popularly known as Indra Abdullah accord. The elections held after this accord saw Sheikh Sahib get an absolute majority in the elections and that election till date is considered as the most free and fair election in the history of Kashmir. Not a single boycott call was given by anyone and Geelani Sahib and the late Molvi Farooq participated in those elections. Late Molvi Farooq even went a step ahead by having the electoral alliance with the Janata party that was ruling at the centre at that time. By participating in 1977 elections both Geelani Sahib and Late Molvi Farooq gave their approval for the accord, and till 1987 both parties took part in the elections. And it was only after militancy erupted that they were forced to stay away from elections.
