Dengue  scare in Rajouri, People panick after patients show  symptoms

People from border town Rajouri and nearby areas  fear Dengue outbreak in Rajouri claiming that a number of patients are showing symptoms of this disease whereas district administration has refuted claims of Dengue outbreak in Rajouri and has also seized a private laboratory in town for alleged false reports giving positive results in Dengue tests.  

As per reports available with Greater Kashmir, which are also based on communication established by a number of locals, it has been learnt that a number of people in Rajouri town and nearby areas, especially in old Rajouri town and ward number 09 and 10, are suffering with fever for last few days. 

" We are hearing from everywhere that people are suffering from Dengue in Rajouri town and a large number of people from this area have been taken to specialised institutions outside Rajouri for Dengue treatment " some locals said adding that situation show that there is Dengue outbreak in Rajouri. 

A resident of ward number 09 of Rajouri town told Greater Kashmir that there are around twenty patients in his locality alone who are having symptoms of Dengue and many are undergoing treatment in outer areas. 

" Threat is serious and everyone is panicked as everyone is fearing Dengue outbreak and authorities are not taking any action " he added. 

Meanwhile, district administration Rajouri has refuted the reports of Dengue epidemic in Rajouri also sharing a clarification of health department. 

" Authorities in health department have clarified that there is no dengue epidemic in Rajouri and necessary measures are in place to handle any such issue " official statement of Rajouri district administration mentions. 

" Total number of seven cases of Dengue were confirmed by health authorities out of which five were  reported to have been affected in Jammu " statement adds. 

Meanwhile, Rajouri district administration also informed that a private diagnostic laboratory of Rajouri, associated with the clinic of a noted doctor of town, has been seized for giving false reports of Dengue tests.

" The said lab diagnosed more than 100 people positive for Dengue  while none of them was actually infected. Lab suggested a particular doctor for treatment but none of the cases diagnosed by lab were actually found positive " statement of district administration further adds.
