A four day photo exhibition by noted landscape photographer Mukhtar Ahmad, for raising funds for welfare of leprosy patients in Kashmir, will be held at Srinagar Club near Doordarshan here from September 20.

“Human sufferings have always moved my heart to do something about my community. That is why my photo exhibitions are not just the exhibitions for the public to get the applauses but sell the images to raise the funds for the deserving ones,” Mukhtar said.

“It was back in 2009 when I organized such a grand show to raise the funds for Cancer Society of Kashmir. That time celebrities like Naseerudin Shah visited the venue and purchased some of the images even for his co actors. I hope this year also the photographers, business community, people associated with travel and trade, politicians, bureaucrats, college and university students and above all common people will extend a helping hand for welfare of leprosy community in Kashmir,” he said. He said the exhibition will be inaugurated at 6 pm.
