ML for UN probe into killings

Greater Kashmir

Srinagar, Sep 13: The Muslim League Jammu Kashmir has submitted a memorandum to the United Nations through United Nations Military Observer Groups in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) demanding immediate end to human rights violation in the state.
According to the memorandum, the party cited the recent killings of three ML workers including Ghulam Muhammad Sheikh son of Muhammad Sultan Sheikh of Tawheed Abad Ashtingoo Bandipore, Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar son of Haji Mahad Joo of Sangla Sarankot Poonch and Muhammad Rasheed Chopan son of Ghulam Muhammad Chopan of Bafliyaz Surankote Poonch, and demanded that UN should initiate a probe against the killings.
“We demand that international community should take cognizance of these violations and persuade India to desist from these,” the memorandum said.
“The investigation on part of the international human rights group has become indispensable because local redressal mechanism have completely failed to address the human rights grievances of the native population,” it added.
