Srinagar, Jan 13: Former J&K Chief Minister and National Conference Working President Omar Abdullah Tuesday said he is glad that the party’s winner and loser candidates endorsed the party line. He also said he is now tweeting without any worry.
“Met the contesting candidates of NC from Kashmir province. Very productive meeting. Glad to have their endorsement of the line taken so far,” Omar tweeted, soon after chairing the meeting of party candidates of Kashmir province.
NC’s General Secretary, Ali Muhammad Sagar, who was part of meeting, said the participants deliberated on the present political scenario in J&K.  “The participants, irrespective of whether they lost or won, were asked to strengthen the party at grassroots and maintain a close rapport with people,” he told Greater Kashmir.
Sagar said all candidates endorsed the party’s offer of support to the Peoples Democratic Party on government formation.
He said the participants also expressed anguish over the “slow pace” of rehabilitation of flood victims.
Omar, whose views on twitter have time and again evoked a debate, also said he would “now” continue to use the micro-blogging site “without any worry.”
“It’s nice to be able to tweet without having to worry about people asking me “koi kaam dhanda nahin hai kya?”:-)” he tweeted.
