Mind-numbing process

This is in reference to the examinations of class 11th to be conducted by Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education in November 2018.The theory exams of students were completed within 10-15 days. The practical examinations have been scheduled from November 20, 2018 to December8, 2018 and these have been spread over for more than three weeks. Such a long process would waste precious time of the students. This exercise should have been completed within a span of 3-4 days. So that students could focus on the studies for the next class.

Budgam lacks development

Budgam constituency on the eastern side of Srinagar city is the most backward constituencies in Kashmir despite its large portion being under Srinagar Municipal Corporation limits.

Most of the area is underdeveloped with people even having no access to tap water despite area being just 10-15 kilometers from city centre Lal Chowk.

Main problems which people are facing in this constituency are lack of transport facility and drainage system. Budgam is the only district which is undeveloped. The government should pay attention towards developing Budgam district.

Sonerwani faces 20hr power cut

We the residents of district Bandipora in general and of Village Sonerwani in particular request the PDD authorities to regularise the power supply in our area. Continuous break down of electricity has plunged Sonerwani and adjacent villages  in darkness. We are witnessing unscheduled power cuts and electricity remains cut off for nearly 20 hours. We hope that the concerned department would look into the matter at the earliest and redress our grievance.

SKUASt-K diploma holders appeal to Governor’s admin

After proper selection through entrance test SKUAST-K trained a batch of 84 youth under one year diploma “landscape gardening and park maintenance” in year 2017-2018.

These youth left other courses with a ray of hope that floriculture department can adjust such trained youth for the development of Floriculture department on modern lines. But unfortunately the Floriculture department has not adjusted the trained youth in the department. Instead untrained youth have been adjusted. In the year 2012 SKUAST-K trained 55 youth under one year diploma “Basic Horticulture Training”(BHT). The Horticulture department created vacancies for these trained youth just after completion of course as technician 4th and even adjusted them for the best benefit of the department.

We Floriculture trainees request the Governor’s  administration to create posts for us in the department of Floriculture and other departments in the same way as was done for the BHT trainees  by the Horticulture department.

Since there is no scope in private sector for such trainees and neither private land is available with the trainees to develop their own businesses such youth can use their skill through some department for the development of Srinagar as a smart city.

‘Address my grievance’

I had submitted a grievance application to the Jammu and Kashmir Governor by speed post on 06/08/2018 regarding the “complicit attitude” of State Vigilance Organisation in dealing my complaint in respect of grabbing of graveyard and constructions of shops illegally on it ( No. VO-Rev-G-71/17),but till date neither my grievance has not been acknowledged nor I have received any grievance number. Neither any action has been taken on the ground.
