Governor Satya Pal Malik inaugurated a newly building, an extension to New Delhi’s Chanakypuri Guest House, at New Delhi here today.
The newly constructed complex adjacent to C-Block ofChanakyapuri Guest House, built over on an area of 7,187 Sft. comprises 24rooms. The building has four floors with provision for an elevator.
The project has been completed at Rs. 364.68 lakh in 15months. The complex shall cater to the ever increasing demand of accommodationfor officers, patients, journalist and others visiting New Delhi, from J&K.
Advisors to Governor K Vijay Kumar, Khurshid Ganai, KK Sharma and K Skandan andChief Secretary, BVR Subramanyam and Principal Resident Commissioner, DheerajGupta were present on the occasion.
Gupta briefed the Governor about accommodation available inthe Guest Houses, renovation and up gradation of rooms at CPGH and 5-PR Road,New Delhi, initiatives taken in the last few months to improve overallfacilities in the existing Guest Houses including up gradation of restaurants,new food menus, new furniture, fixtures and newly designed Menu Cards and TentCards.
The Governor inspected facilities available for guests invarious blocks and directed for providing all kind of assistance to thepatients and other needy inmates who stay at Guest Houses for treatment of lifeconsuming diseases.
He appreciated work done by Resident Commission regardingmaintenance and beautification of the premises.
The Governor later chaired a meeting to review status ofstate properties located in New Delhi, Amritsar, Chandigarh and Mumbai. Heurged J&K Resident Commission office to make every effort to protect andpreserve properties of the State. During the meeting, newly elected MP fromLadakh Jamyang Tsering Namgial and Members of Legislative Council were present.
A brief power point presentation was presented by DheerajGupta about guest houses situated at CPGH; 5-Prithvi Raj Road, New Delhi;Chandigarh, Amritsar and Mumbai.
