President of India, Ram Nath Kovind today presented “Nari Shakti Puraskar” to Nilza Wangmo an entrepreneur sponsored by Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute(JKEDI) at Rashtrapati Bhawan on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
Nilza, who is from Alchi, a remote village in the UnionTerritory of Ladakh, famous for Alchi Buddhist started her restaurant-AlchiKitchen in 2016. Alchi Kitchen is a popular eatery in the mountainous region,which serves Ladakh’s traditional cuisine, along with a modern twist.
The restaurant is nestled in the mountains of Ladakh and isthronged by hundreds of tourists and local people daily. Nilza says that hermother has been her inspiration and has supported her all through her life.
Nilza’s Alchi Kitchen, sponsored by Jammu and KashmirEntrepreneurship Development Institute, is one of many ventures in the UnionTerritory of Ladakh sponsored under Youth Startup Loan Scheme(YSLS) by Jammuand Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute.
