PDP Rajya Sabha MPs call on PM Modi

Rajya Sabha members from Jammu and  Kashmir and leaders of Peoples Democratic Party Nazir Ahmad Laway and Mir Muhammad Fayaz met Prime Minister NarendraModi in New-Delhi on Tuesday, a statement said.

 It said that the twoleaders had threadbare discussion with the Prime Minister  on current political situation in J&Kwhich has been under central rule for more than a year now. “The leadersstressed on the need to conduct Assembly elections in the state sooner thanlater, so that the people will have easy access to their popular government.The two leaders also stressed on the need to start dialogue process at anearliest, so that there is no more bloodshed in the Valley. They impressed uponthe Prime Minister to take all stake holders on board.  They also highlighted the need to completeseveral languishing projects in the state which were started several yearsback. They urged the Prime Minister to earmark special package for the state inthe ensuing budget so that all the projects which are pending due to lack offunds may get completed. Further they also urged to announce a specialemployment package for the Kashmiri youth who have been severely affected bythe militancy in the state,” the statement added.
