 Pahalgam: In absence of any repairs, the Circuit Road here is in a dilapidated condition hampering smooth movement of tourist and other vehicles.
 The Circuit Road leads to huts of various departments including Tourism, Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation and Pahalgam Development Authority.
 The road is dotted with countless potholes and remains inundated after light rainfall. Despite leading to core tourist area the concerned authorities have failed to under its repairs. The condition of the road is so bad that it should be closed for any sort of traffic,” said a local Shabir Ahmad.
 The dilapidated condition of the road forces tourists to stay at other places in Pahalgam.
 The road also serves as an alternate link to many villages in Pahalgam and villagers also suffer due to its dilapidated condition.
 “We had approached the concerned department umpteen times but to no avail. We appeal the Minister for Roads and Building to get the road macadamized before snowfall,” they said.
 Meanwhile, the inhabitants of Larkipora village in Pahalgam have also sought the macadamization of the road leading there.
 “Tourists mostly foreigners prefer to stay in hotels and huts of Larkipora and Manzimpora. But the road here is in a dilapidated condition causing tremendous inconvenience to them,” said Ibrahim Raina owner of Hotel Brown Palace.  The locals urged the authorities to macadamize the road at the earliest.
