JK BOSE: playing its role

The Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education was established in 1975 under “The Jammu & Kashmir State Board of School Education Act, 1975” to advise the government on matters of policy relating to Elementary, Secondary and Senior Secondary Education and other matters pertaining to promotion of Education for all. The Curriculum Development and Research Wing (CDRW), Academic Division of J&K BOSE which acts as the nerve centre of the organization is associated with Development of Curriculum and Courses of studies by inviting academicians from different strata of Education. The process of development and renewal of textbooks has been carried out in consonance with the National Curriculum Framework- 2005. The core and maximum of the textbooks of BOSE have been developed by adoption /adaptation of textual  material published by NCERT with  contextualization of (15%) by local specific contents. 

Academic Activities carried out during 2016-2017 and 2018 

   

Reviewed /Revised textbook Of Mathematics for Class 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th.

Developed Curriculum on financial literacy to be incorporated in the Curriculum of Classes of 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th.

Revision and updating of textbook of History of Class 6th.

Developed the syllabi of History for Class 11th in accordance with NCF 2005.

Developed the Scheme of assessment for Class 9th and 10th Kashmiri Textbook.

Developed the syllabi of Class 9th and 10th Kashmiri textbook.        

Developed the Syllabi for DEED Course of Kashmiri Subject.

Revised and updated Kashmiri Textbook for Class 5th.

Development of   Syllabi of Environmental Science for Class 11th and 12th.

Developed textbook and  framed syllabi and scheme of assessment of Punjabi Subject for Classes 9th and 10th. 

Development of Textbook of Balti (Regional Language) for class 4th

Developed Textbook Primer for class 4th Shina 

Revision of syllabi for class 12th in respect of English Literature. 

Revision of syllabi for classes 11th and 12th In October 2016

Review and development of curriculum and Textbook of Arabic for classes 9th and 10th.

Development of Textbook of Persian for class 9th and 10th

Revised textbook of Gojri for classes 1st to 5th.

Revised textbook of Pahari for class 5th.

Developed Textbook of English Literature for class 12th.

Revised Syllabi of Music for class 11th and 12th.

Implemented revised syllabi of Home Science (Elective) and Full stream in the academic session 2016-17.

Implemented revised textbook of economics and Disaster Management for class 10th.

Developed new textbook of English for class 1st. and  the development of the textbooks  of  2nd and 3rd class is at hand.

Implemented Revised Syllabi of EVS for class 11th and 12th. 

Revised Textbook of Social and Political Life for class 6th, 

Revised textbook of Geography for class 10th and implemented in the academic session 2016-17.

Revised textbook of Economics, Disaster-Management and Road Safety Education for class 9th and 10th and implemented in Academic session 2016-17.

Revised textbook of Hindi for class 1st to 3rd and introduced in academic session 2017.

Revised Syllabi of Class 11th and 12th in the discipline of entrepreneurship in the academic session 2016-17.

Inclusion of Legal Literacy in school curriculum of class 11th and 12th. 

Workshop on development of model papers in Sociology and English Literature for class 12th in July 2017.

Workshop designing the syllabi and Assessment scheme in Kashmir and Punjabi for class 9th and 10th conducted in the month of August 2017.

Workshop on financial literacy for inclusion in curriculum conducted in August 2017.

Workshops for revision of textbooks for class 6th conducted in the month of September and October 2017.

Workshop for re-designing and re-shaping the Textbook of Kashmiri for class 5th conducted n September, 2017.

JKBOSE is acting as nodal agency for centrally sponsored Scholarship Schemes viz. CSSS, INSPIRE and in this context rigorous efforts are being made to provide the benefits of these schemes to the maximum no. entitled student beneficiaries. 

It is playing a significant role for implementation of the vocational subjects in the selected schools of the state in collaboration with RAMSA.

It has taken in hand an important assignment of MHRD viz. conduct of National Achievement Survey for class 10th in order to find the learning levels of the students so that lower learning level can be enhanced and improved accordingly to the desired levels.

JK Knowledge Network Hub at JK BOSE, Rehari Colony, Jammu was recently inaugurated by the Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari. More than 200 schools have been identified for transaction of e-contents through Knowledge network video conferencing involving subject experts and IT Professionals.
