Survival under stress

Wild plants accumulate more energy under stressful conditions; while as average human beings lose more energy under stress. But great ones act like wild plants under stressful conditions. This is the first requirement of being extra-ordinary. We may not expect everybody to be great in order to survive smoothly or achieve more heights by using stress as an opportunity. Most of the people get angry and depressed by small cues of annoying circumstances. Present day world has highest number of people under stress, if seen through the pages of history. Stress, though a mental condition; it reflects on the whole body, mind and spirit and functionality of all the three. It demolishes the normal neuro-chemical structure of the victim and encourages the victim body to host a number of disorders and imbalances. In view of this precarious situation it is emergent to take a serious note of depression statistics of the society. 

The fundamental question is, do you have control over external factors, which contribute to stress? The answer is simply no. Then the only possibility is to manage the response. So need arises to find solutions of stress within yourself. Blaming your surroundings will only enhance the stress, because it will engage you in helplessness. So the best guide is the wild plant, which faces harsh environment and enriches its quality of content and remains grateful to harshness. Harshness of others is an opportunity not a cause of stress. If you are depressed by the rudeness of others, that means you are embedded with un-realistic expectations. You cannot justify yourself by expecting pears from willow tree. Getting angry by virtue of such expectations is simply im-maturity. 

   

What we need is simply to take charge of our mind and body. It is wise to realize that I am a mortal and take a few minutes to assess, whether the limited uncertain available time should be spent weeping, laughing, depressed or should I take a decision to manage it as a consciously aware person and live under my own command without giving others a right to annoy me at their will. A person who is not consciously aware of his control over his mental faculty is like a person who has given everybody a license to make him angry without his consent. 95 % of our population falls under this category. Living in 21st century and expecting behavior of 7th century is childish andun-realistic. So better to accept the reality, as it is. And the hard reality is you are living with un-realistic expectations. You need to bring down your expectation level and respond the situation as a mature person. Stress will get resolved without sucking your energy.

Stress is not so bad, as we assume it. Go through past you will find most of the people who have contributed to make this planet a better place, have been awaken by depression and chilling stress. It depends on the attitude of the respondent. If he is ordinary he will lose energy and will feel lack and hollowness while as an extra ordinary person will get a stimulus to think for an alternative channel to consume the same amount of energy for a productive purpose. Then stress emerges as a wakeup call. Here you are in command of your person and have disabled your anger function.

When you are facing stressful circumstance, you need to ask yourself a very simple question. Am I responding the stressful situation like a wild plant or not. If the answer is yes. Be sure you have potential for higher assignments and greater responsibilities. You need to take a decision to start planning for the membership of the community of people who have created history.
