No one is considered to be a completelearned man for he has to face modern challenges, ups and downs and has toacquire multi-dimensional and comprehensive knowledge and informationthroughout his life.

The continuous expansion of knowledge andinformation contributed by the highly talented, trained intellectuals andresourceful research scholars, philosophers, scientists and great educationistshave enlightened and revolutionized educational technology. Modern teachingmethodology has made teaching-learning process more effective and purposeful.        The traditional approach ofteaching-learning has changed altogether. The modern multi-media techniques andmethods have enabled and enriched teachers with courage and confidence.

   

No doubt the audio-visual, mass media aids,radio broadcast and tele-class room, educational programmes and above all theuse of mobiles, laptops, tablets, web and social media platforms have played asignificant role in teaching learning process but conventional classroomteaching imparted by educational institution like schools and collegescontinues to be a basic requirement for present and future generations.However, modern teacher needs to be well equipped, well trained with moderneducational methodology and in lesson planning before teaching and deliveringclass room lessons.

The educational technology means persistentand complex endeavor for bringing teacher and taught together in an effectiveand purposeful way. The purpose of educational technology in the class-roomsituation is the development, application, motivation, arousing interest,diverting attention and making evaluation after using systems, techniques andrelevant teaching aids to improve human learning.

At school and class-room level the main aimof teaching-learning process is to learn and acquire knowledge and informationand make the students to understand the practical knowledge so that they cancommunicate and express the learned ideas and skills afterwards.

The function of teaching methodology is toidentify the educational goals and objectives so as to achieve the stipulatedgoals.

The good and resourceful teacher isconsidered as an elastic container of comprehensive knowledge and information,so as to enlighten the students by applying and approaching with appropriateteaching methodology.

The function of a good teacher is to applysuitable teaching-learning aids and materials to develop proper teachingstrategies for obtaining optimum result.

A good teacher is a guide, director andsuperintendent to operate and deliver the class-room lessons with the intentionthat the students acquire knowledge and information by making regularself-study and revising the delivered lessons.

A good teacher’s endeavor and approach isto provide clear, desirable and appropriate teaching activities and experiencesfor learning. The teaching imparted by a good teacher develops a sense ofmutual cooperation between the teachers and taught. A good teacher is he, whoprovides quality education develops a sense of good manners and tolerance sothat the students can well behave and respect to elders, teachers and parentsand adjust themselves to the environment and always face the modern challengesof life.

During the process of evaluation a goodteacher should encourage the students by cashing on the emotional factor. Thestudent should be praised, given cash or material prizes when they performwell, thereby they can develop self-confidence, self-reliance and self-respect.

A good teacher is he, who can control hisclass and create good discipline not through fear nor by high handedness but byvirtue of polite attitude, sympathetic approach exhibiting good command,sufficient knowledge, clear concepts on the subject-matter. Students usuallyappreciate the good and purposeful teaching and fully cooperate with theteacher with confidence and respect.

Lesson planning is a working philosophy ofa good teacher. It is a guide-map of action and like a blue-print and alsodelimits the field of work of the teacher as well as of the student and enablesthe teachers to deliver the everyday lesson successfully in the class roomsituation.

Lesson planning helps the teacher toovercome from the feeling of nervousness and insecurity, non-plushness and itgives him confidence and command over the subject to be delivered and taught inthe class-room.
