The dangers of PUBG

“Player Unknown’s Battle Grounds,” popularly known as “PUBG” game, is a multi-player online shooting game that allows for solo or team play. It subscribes to the Battle Royale format, which drops 100 players at a time into an enclosed space where they must scavenge for weapons, medical supplies and other resources in an effort to be the last player standing and getting “Chicken Dinner”. Yes, that’s what a winner team is called in PUBG the “winner winner chicken dinner”. In the shortest time the game gained popularity among the young generation. The youngsters are playing it each and every day for hours together. It has been observed that everyone loves to play it and besides the celebrities, Youtubers, college students and school goers are playing PUBG game for most of the time.

They say “every action has its re-action”. Likewise there is no advantage at all of playing any video game, but there are lots of disadvantages of playing any game. The bad impact of playing video games is because of the violence that contains. That’s what people say about PUBG as well. Children who play more violent video games are more prone to aggressive thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

People can be addicted to video gaming. The WHO in 2018 declared gaming addiction as a mental health disorder. Addiction to video games increases their depression and anxiety levels. When you get addict to the game, you will waste 8–10 hours playing the game all day long. Addicted people also exhibit social phobias. Too much video gaming keeps you busy with the game only. You may become socially isolated.  You may have less sleep. Also, you may spend less time on other activities such as reading, sports, interacting with the family and friends and also sometimes not concentrating on your career as well.

Sometimes you totally forget your future goal, aims, and ambitions. You always find your family blaming you spending more time on game instead with them. It becomes worse if you have a family and kids to take care of. If you spend the majority of your time gaming, you won’t be able to spend the time with your kids and family which they need the most.

Concentrating on a particular game, one will have nightmares of the game whenever you sleep at night. You won’t be able to focus on your work like studying, your other hobbies or anything else. You will keep thinking about the game all the time. So, when you will not concentrate on any other work, your work will surely get spoiled. This is really a time consuming game. People not only spend more time on playing but also on watching others on live streams and  spend thousands of rupees to donate them through Super Chat, Paytm, Google pay etc.

When you are really close to a screen while you are playing, you may begin to notice that your vision is more blurry than it was before you started playing. Keep in mind that this would be a long term effect of gaming. However, if you are glued to a screen for few hours and then try to look at something else, your vision might be blurry, but then as you focus it will return to your regular vision. This could lead you to get glasses or contact lens to help you with viewing things clearly.

I myself also played this game for few months. And my personal experience in PUBG is all what I mentioned above, it is very addictive game, you can’t go to sleep without playing this and once you start playing you will waste a lot of time till late night. I also faced a sort of depression and heaviness due to playing it because of too much concentration that it need.

Gaming doesn’t only effect us mentally, socially or physically but also sometimes leads us to lose our precious lives. Before PUBG there was Blue Whale game which caused the chaos in entire world and even claimed some precious lives, now this game seems causing the same disturbances too. Before some days Mumbai teen commit suicide when he was denied to have a new mobile phone for playing PUBG Mobile.

In Kashmir too PUBG emerged as one of the most viral games. Before this game people were busy with different social media websites or applications. But soon after PUBG Fever increased, everyone came under its influence. People are wasting time with this game. Sooner they understand its disastrous effects, better it will be for them.
