Tribute to the affected

The currentaffliction of coronavirus is expanding at a very high celerity. Many high-techcountries have fallen prey to it. China, the world’s largest economy is farbeyond its cure. Presently, their prime concern is to burn midnight oil tofight this lethal virus. If seen, every country is taking necessary steps inorder to mitigate this problem. Saudi Arabia have provided a $ 10 million aidto WHO’s consistent effort to fight coronavirus. Most of the countries acrossthe Middle East have closed their borders, shut off air and sea travel as thecases of coronavirus are mounting to huge number with majority of the casesfrom China and Iran. WHO’s declaration of coronavirus as pandemic has createdhavoc among the masses. This global health emergency declared is changing itsroots with a blistering pace. There is not even a single sign of its ending. But there is a famous adverb ‘never give up’ as we have been brought up by thissaying. Patience is the need of an hour.

We allshould be aware of the safety tips in order to save and get ourselves out ofthis trouble. Keep a wary eye on the advice of Health Ministries andparticularly on WHO measures to tackle this. Jammu andKashmir recently reported some cases of coronavirus. Those suspected have beenput under surveillance and some are under home quarantine. Though, patients areunder treatment in isolation wards. Government is on toes to tackle thesemisfortune cases. But there are some miscreants who are making fun of thisdeadly virus, denying its ill effects, following their vain desires and mockingat each other by uploading posts on social media of asinine nature. Thus, disheartening and disappointing the hopes of those who have fallen prey to thisadversity. This disregardful act needs to be avoided in future.

One shouldquestion their dogmas whether to make mockery of coronavirus affected groups orto praise their sacrifice. My feelings are for those who died due to thiscoronavirus outbreak, for those individuals who left from abroad leaving behindtheir livelihood earning opportunities, the industrialists who are consideredas the backbone of an economy and are in a major business stagnation, thoseworshipers who have been instructed to perform prayers at their concerned homesand not in a congregation, the hardest hit stayed firms (Manufacturing, materials, and consumer goods), shareholders who sold their portfolios becauseof stock market plunge, and particularly those future tulips (students andscholars) who are in a psychological trauma because of government’s suspensionorders of teaching and classwork across educational institutions.

Recently, I met a person with oleaginous face, was beingbrought to hospital. I asked his whereabouts and he didn’t utter a single word.He was followed by some helpers. Somehow, I managed to identify the person ashe was the aboriginal of the same place where hospital was located. The personwas scary of coronavirus. He believed that talking to others can be a cause ofthis disease. One of my confrere was telling about throbbing of his body, wasalso afraid of susceptible to this disease. Though, there was not even a singlesignal of coronavirus, but their minds were traumatised of this harmful virusaffecting their time, courage and at most the virtue of their living. Takingsome firm stand and showing some probity in solidarity for those who are thevictim of this disease. Let us pledge to try to feel the invisible pain whichthe affected one’s felt. Tell them you are ourcounterparts, we don’t know how you felt struggling this disease, but we feelyour pain, convey them you are not alone in this grief, we are with you, wewill always remember you in our precious prayers. This will sound more than atontine for those who died, suffered and are presently suffering. A sense ofpurpose and satisfaction can be created by lending a helping hand to others. The writer is aresearch scholar in Department of Management Studies, BGSB University, Rajouri,J&K
