Workshop on Research methodology concludes at IUST

A week-long research methodology course in social sciences concluded at Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora. A varsity spokesman said the program was jointly organised by Rinchen Shah Centre for West Himalayan Cultures and Centre for International Relations (CIR), in collaboration with Anthropological Survey of India. The workshop was organised, keeping in view the requirement of quality research from institutions of higher learning.

“The main objective was to equip research scholars and faculty with the requisite skills to conduct quality research that is relevant to society,” the spokesman said. The program was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor IUST, Prof Mushtaq A Siddiqi. In his address, Prof Siddiqi stressed on the need by researchers to conduct socially relevant research. Prof A S Bhat, who was the guest of honour, reiterated that research should be socially relevant as well as of high quality. Head, Rinchen Shah Centre for West Himalayan Cultures Dr. Sonam Joldan presented welcome address on the occasion.
