15 contacts of COVID19 patient isolated in Rajouri

A laborer returning from Kashmir’s Shopian district tested positive for COVID 19 here after which more than 15 of his contacts were identified and isolated. Besides, his four companions were booked for hiding travel history.

An official said the youth in his 20s was working in anapple garden in Shopian town. “On April 15, he along with six other laborersleft Shopian and reached Dehra Ki Gali here a day later,” the official said.

   

“These seven laborers bifurcated in two groups withfive of them managing to cross the check point safely by following forestroute, whereas two laborers were caught by forces on check point and shifted toa quarantine facility,” the official said.

The samples of the two laborers were collected and thesample report for one of them came as positive on Saturday, said the official.

The official said during interviewing the patient admittedhe had six more laborers with him when their group left from Shopian for homeand five of them were missing.

“A late night operation was launched under the closesupervision of District Magistrate Rajouri and Senior Superintendent of Police(SSP) and teams of police, tehsil administration and health department wereswung into action. After rigorous searches, four out of five laborers werefound in Tarhain village area of Budhal who were immediately shifted toisolation ward of GMC Associated Hospital Rajouri on Sunday,” the officialsaid.

The official said the 5ht laborer was identified as theresident of Chassana in Reasi after which the information was shared with thedistrict counterparts who intercepted him at Chassana on Sunday.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh said thepatient who tested positive was a resident of Mandir Gala Tralla village ofKotranka tehsil of Rajouri.

He said more than 15 active contacts of the patient havebeen identified including six laborers who accompanied him while returning fromthe Valley to Rajouri.

Meanwhile, police have booked four laborers who wereaccompanying the positive tested man, for hiding their travel history whilereturning to their home district.

These four laborers are all residents of KangotaBudhal.”The case has been registered against the four persons in police stationBudhal,” said SSP RajouriChandanKohli.
