18 injured in Rajouri, Poonch road accidents

Eighteen persons were injured in four separate road accidents in Rajouri and Poonch districts.

An official informed that a collision took place between an auto and a tractor at Rah Salyote in Sunderbani on main highway in Rajouri district.

   

In this accident, one Rohit Puri son of Mohan Lal resident of Sunderbani got injured who was taken to Sunderbani hospital from where he was referred to GMCH Jammu.

Another accident took place at Nonial area on Nowshera Jhanger road in Rajouri district after head-on collision between an auto JK11 4975 and car JK02AU 6451.

Four persons travelling in the car namely Parveen Choudhary, Rajiv Choudhary, Tania Choudhary and Amit Kumar got injured.

Similarly, six persons travelling in the auto got injured who include Suresh Kumar, Veena Kumari, Nisha Kumari, Priyanka Choudhary, Tej Paul and Paramjeet Kour.

All the ten injured were shifted to sub-district hospital Nowshera where they are under treatment.

Police have taken cognizance of both the accidents.

On the other hand, an accident took place at Devta Dhargaloon village of Mendhar in Poonch district after an eco-vehicle plunged into gorge in Devta village near Dhargaloon in Mendhar.

Block medical officer Mendhar, Dr. Parvez Ahmed Khan informed that five persons got injured in this accident who include Azia Javed, Haseena Gulzar, Zeenat Firdous, Mehnaz Akhter and Quyoom Khan, residents of Sandote village near line of control.

“One of the injured namely Mehnaz Kouser has been shifted to Rajouri district hospital due to blunt trauma chest while other injured have been treated in Mendhar hospitals,” said Dr. Khan.

In another accident in Poonch district, a car JK02BA 0403 was on way to Mendhar from Poonch with two officials deployed on election duty were travelling in it. The car was hit by a bus and it plunged in gorge due to which the two officials on election duty got injured.

They have been identified as Bashir Anjum and Shabir Ahmed, both residents of Malhan village of Poonch. The duo has been hospitalised with multiple injuries.

Poonch police have taken cognizance in both the accidents.
