Two persons including an elderly man and a teenage girl were injured in heavy shelling from across the Line of Control (LoC), in Manjakote village of this district.
Both the injured, having multiple splinter injuries, wererushed to the district hospital for the treatment.
An official said on late Tuesday night, ceasefire violationstarted on the LoC in TarkundiGali and Balakote forward areas, followed byintense shelling which continued for hours.
“Mortar shell fired from across the LoC hit a house injuringthe man and the teenage girl,” said a local.
Meanwhile, two houses have suffered damages in the shelling.”One of the houses where two person got injured is badly damaged while anotherstructure was partially damaged,” said an officer of districtadministration.
