2 killed, as many injured as vehicle plunges into gorge

Two persons were killed while two others sustained injuries after a vehicle they were travelling in plunged into a gorge, here at Bagga-Gundi area of Mahore sub-division on Sunday.

A police officer said, “A Tata Sumo, JK20 1981, en routeMahore from Gundi, skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge at Gundi morh.As a result, four persons sustained injuries.”

   

The locals, reports said, rushed the spot and shifted theinjured to sub-district hospital, Mahore, where two of them were declared asbrought dead.

The deceased have been identified as 25-year-old RayeesAhmed, son Abdul Hamid, and 28-year-old Mehran Malik, son of Ghulam Nabi, bothresidents of Bagga.

The injured have been identified as 39-year-old BashirAhmed, son of Ghulam Qadir, and 25-year-old Muzaffar Jan, son of Ghulam Nabi,both residents of Bagga. The injured were undergoing treatment when lastreports poured in and their condition was stated to be stable.

An FIR has been registered and police are investigating thecase further.
